As part of my brainstorming for my literary narrative, I had to do two pre-writing activities. These activities were used to try and pinpoint a moment in my learning career that I either had a fixed or growth mindset. I chose to do a couple webs and a timeline. I really liked the webbing because it gave me specific people or times in my life to focus on, and it was easier for me to think about what I was learning at that point in my life. I liked the timeline as well but not as much. It was helpful because it took pieces from my entire learning career that could work together, however, it was very broad so I didn’t have a distinct memory. I’m hoping after doing both of these activities, the writing process will come easier to me.
Revision Process:
The revision process of my literacy narrative took quite a bit of time to complete. It was different than most revisions that I had done in the past because I had multiple comments from peers that I had to take into consideration in order to make my narrative the best that it could be. Normally when I revise a paper, I re-read it no more than two times, however, on this paper, I went back and read my paper again 4-5 times before making it final. I did this, because I felt that I had more to look at, more to analyze, and more to edit. Overall, I liked this revision process because it gave me a lot of helpful tips and insight on what I could do to better my narrative. Whereas, in the past, I had to figure things out all on my on so I often times missed a lot of my mistakes.
