Big Data Recursive Process

Main Argument- Big data analytics should be seen as an advantageous system, due to the fact it can give us answers that we have been striving to find.

My recursive process was on a google doc so there is not a picture of it, but the information in the document is up above. My recursive process for this essay actually helped me quite a bit. This was a very broad topic and the recursive process helped me narrow down my topic a little bit more to make the writing easier. I started by deciding that I wanted to focus on big data in the nursing field. From there, I looked for sources that covered that topic, and determined what claims that each of the sources made. After seeing all of the different claims that were made, I tried to find claims that were similar in each of the sources that I found. My recursive process really helped me determine what I wanted my main three claims to be and it also helped me figure out which sources I was going to use in which point. I liked doing this activity because it was a very organized recursive process and without it I feel like my first draft would have been all over the place and very confusing to my readers. Luckily, I found a way to structure my draft and make it understandable. Once I was done with my first draft, I took colored markers and used one for each source that I integrated into my paper. By doing this, it allowed me to see which sources I took too much information from, as well as which sources I needed more information from. It also helped me see where I needed to include more of my input into the paper, whether it be a claim, an explanation, just something that established my standpoint on the topic.
