SM Integrating Sources

I added a lot of source material into my essay. I felt like by adding this source material, I was giving my readers evidence from credible sources that supported my argument, which in turn, hopefully, makes them agree with what I am saying. When incorporating the source material into my work, I mostly followed Barclay’s formula to assist me. Barclay’s formula is as follows: 1) Your claim, question, or idea. 2) Introduce your quote with signal phrasing and other set up moves. 3) A quote, paraphrase or description. 4) Your explanation of how the passage supports, complicates, or develops your claim, idea, or question. and 5) Transition. This is the process that I attempted to follow throughout my paper. I like this method because I feel like it makes the paper seem very structured and very neat. I don’t like when papers are scattered and hard to understand, so, I used Barclay’s method to help me avoid this in my paper.
