One of my favorite classes that I am enrolled in right now is problems of philosophy. This class actually overlaps with English 110, as I often use my active reading skills to help me complete my philosophy assignments. Our assignments mostly consist of having to read a philosophical article and then writing a response to it. In order to do this well, I often find myself annotating the article that I am reading in order to help myself better comprehend and understand the information I am reading. In my annotations, I often try to depict what the author was trying to say, ask questions of my own, or just simply underline what I think is interesting. This technique helps me a lot because it gives me a pretty good outline of the points that I want to hit in my response paper.
